The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is currently surviving off of "reserved funds". This is obviously not a sustainable way to keep the organization afloat but hopefully there will be something that can save the institution from closing completely when all of the money runs out.
The problems with maintaining funds are primarily due to the organization selling less tickets and getting less donations. The 2010 season saw an astonishing 2.7 million dollar budget shortfall from which they will need to recover. Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is not currently under threat of bankruptcy but only time will tell what happens in the future.
